Web-Site FAQ

Why did the URLs change.
When Island County Beach Watchers began, we were the one and only Beach Watchers. Now that there are Beach Watchers in seven counties, it is important to have Xyz County information in the Xyz folder, and regional information in the regional folder.
What happened to the breadcrumbs ..
Instead of breadcrumbs (which showed the hierarchical path to the current page, we are using a new version of the left-nav-bar, which provides not just the hierarchy, but also related pages.
Where did the links go that used to be on the right side of the home page?
We are trying to keep the home page geared to new visitors, and the right-side links were found to be distracting. They have been replaced with a "What's New" page, accessible via the left-nav-bar. You can always jump directly to Upcoming Events by clicking on the blue [Upcoming Events] button at at the top of the left-nav-bar.
What happened to the crab at the bottom of every page?
This used to be a hyperlink (on most pages) to the site map. It has been replaced by a Site Map link in the left nav bar.
What happened to the EZ-ID circle on the banner.
It has been replaced by an "EZ-ID at the Beach" featured link at top of the left-nav-bar. Even better, just click on any seastar!
What happened to the BW Only circle on the banner
It is no more! While we will be adding some 'BW-Only' information in the future, it will be password-protected when we do so, and an appropriate link provided somewhere on the site.
