Support Us Financially
Your generous gift will help Island County Beach Watchers carry our message to the community, sponsor classes, conduct research and do other work to benefit the environment of Whidbey and Camano islands.
We stretch every dollar, thanks to the leveraging power of our dedicated volunteers who donate 20,000 hours of in-kind service every year!
Here are some ways to give:
- Cash or check. We gratefully welcome your tax-deductible contributions. Make your check payable to Lighthouse Environmental Programs. Click here to download and print a donation form and mailing instructions (form will open in a new window)
- Double it with corporate matching! Many companies will match the gifts their employees or retirees make to tax-exempt organizations such as Beach Watchers. Ask your human resources or corporate contributions department for a matching gift form and instructions. Companies that will match gifts include Boeing, Microsoft, Safeco, Home Depot, U.S. Bankcorp, US West, Wells Fargo and hundreds of others.
- Memorials and Living Memorials. A Memorial to Beach Watchers is a caring way to honor a loved one for whom nature or the islands were a special part of life. A Living Memorial is a wonderful way to help a living friend or family member celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary or retirement. We acknowledge memorials and living memorials with a thank you card to family members or friends as requested.
- Wills, real estate. Bequests to Beach Watchers may be listed in your will, either as a specific dollar amount or as a percentage of the estate. Land and property may be gifted directly to Lighthouse Environmental Programs.
- Retirement plan assets. You may name Lighthouse Environmental Programs as a beneficiary of your retirement account. If you wish for your spouse to be the primary beneficiary, you may name L.E.P. as the contingent beneficiary.
- Life insurance. You may name Lighthouse Environmental Programs as a beneficiary to your life insurance policy.
- Appreciated assets. You may donate personal assets that have appreciated over the years to L.E.P. as a way of making a charitable donation, realizing tax benefits and avoiding payment of capital gains tax. Examples of such assets include stocks, bonds, shares of mutual funds, life insurance policies, precious metals or artwork.
