Dirona pellucida (Golden dirona)

This strikingly beautiful nudibranch is reddish to golden orange with white spots on the body and white markings on the cerata that lend a frosted appearance.  Although usually smaller, it can attain a length of 5 inches/12 cm.  This species feeds on bryozoans.  Its range extends from Norton Sound, Alaska to Puget Sound, Washington.  This nudibranch has also been known as Dirona aurantia
